Anxiety: we all experience the feeling at some point throughout our lives, maybe even throughout our weeks and days. The definition of anxiety, according to the Oxford English dictionary, is “a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.” With trying and uncertain such as these that we are currently experiencing, it is certainly no question as to why many of us may be fitting this definition. There is hope, however, in coping with anxiety in the form of chiropractic care.

If you or someone close to you has ever experienced anxiety, then you might recognize that the symptoms are often both mental and physical; the brain-body connection is all too clear during times of mental dis-ease. Subluxation—or, nerve-system interference—in the body can contribute to the feeling of a lack of ease, such as the feeling of anxiety. Chiropractic detects and corrects subluxations in the body, in order to allow the body to adapt to stress better. During this time, we could all use a lot less stress, and a lot more of adaptation to stressors. Anxiety need not be a permanent state of being, and with the incorporation of chiropractic care, administered through adjustments, a person may achieve a greater sense of ease in their life. “Utilizing expert chiropractic care can not only help to treat anxiety but can also return your body and nervous system to a state where it is more equipped to deal with the triggers that come up in day to day life.” Being better equipped to handle life’s stressors and emotional pitfalls is obtainable though the use of chiropractic care as a lifestyle tool.

Overall, chiropractic care can help relieve the body of physical tension, and can thereby provide a mental release as well. While we may not be able to control our immediate circumstances, we can control what we choose to affect our body’s by making smart and informed decisions about how to care for ourselves. Removing subluxations—allowing our body’s system to communicate clearly—through chiropractic care can assist in our individual journeys toward living a healthier, happier, anxiety-free life.
