Doulas

A doula is woman who is trained to assist another woman during childbirth and who may provide support to the family after the baby is born.

Lactation Consultants

Lactation consultants are professional breastfeeding specialists trained to teach mothers how to feed their baby. They help women experiencing breastfeeding problems, such as latching difficulties, painful nursing, and low milk production. A lactation consultant also helps babies who aren't gaining enough weight.

Midwives

A midwife is a woman who is trained to assist a woman in childbirth.

OBGYNs

Gynecologists are doctors who specialize in women’s reproductive health. Obstetricians care for women during their pregnancy and deliver babies. OBGYNs do all of the above.

Postpartum Therapists

Childbirth Classes

These classes are designed to help you prepare for labor and birth with helpful breathing techniques, information for spouses, and strategies to cope with pain. Some classes will give you lessons on how to care for baby once they arrive, with examples of diapering, swaddling, and feeding.

Birthing Centers

Not all women choose to deliver in a traditional hospital setting, and instead feel more comfortable in a birthing center. If this is a decision you make, we have resources to help you choose the best one for your birthing needs.
