We know what you’re thinking – are Michelle Dempsey and Dr. Gena still talking about this charity event they threw last week?

Why yes, yes we are. And it’s simply because we are beaming with pride – for many reasons.

You see, when the two of us first set out to plan an event together, the details were all over the place. There was, however, one theme that stuck out immediately – treating the ladies in our lives, the ones who are always offering their full support to us both, to a night of indulgence and fun, while giving back to their favorite charitable organization – the PACE Center for Girls Broward.

Brilliant, right?

So after months of securing vendors and staff to make the vision complete, perfecting every last detail to help the women who were so quick to buy tickets to the event treat themselves in every sense of the word, you can imagine the big day was pretty spectacular.

And it was.

From the relaxing massages our two massage therapists provided to guests, to the manicures by the professional manicurists who joined us from Toi Spa in Plantation, and endless food and cocktails– every lady in the house was thrilled. Not only did each guest receive a little pampering and a whole lot of yumminess as part of Treat Yo’ Self 2016 by Dr. Gena Chiropractic and Michelle Dempsey, guests were even offered the opportunity to shop for some pretty exciting goodies.

Clothing by LulaRoe, beauty products on behalf of Beautycounter, fun gifts on behalf of Pure Romance, and the yummiest Kombucha we’ve ever sampled from Te Kombucha, filled each corner of Dr. Gena’s gorgeous office.

Oh, and that raffle we had been bragging about for almost three months? The one where we gave out over 20 amazing prizes to help raise money for our cause? Yea, the smiles were contagious. And our hearts were bursting.

All in all, our first ever Treat Yo’ Self event was a huge success, and surely won’t be our last.

PACE History

PACE began in 1985 with one Center in Jacksonville, Florida serving 10 girls.  Today PACE includes 19 Centers throughout Florida that serve over 2,000 girls each year and PACE has changed the life trajectory of over 37,000 girls since its inception. PACE began as a community response to the realization that girls involved with the justice system were either being placed in programs designed for boys or placed further into the system for their own protection.  There were no effective alternatives.  Started by Vicki Burke and guided by the research-based recommendations which called for gender responsive programming, PACE created a new alternative to institutionalization or incarceration for girls.
