Did you ever stop to think about how easy it is to be lazy? How simple it is to forego your list of responsibilities and sit around doing nothing?

How much you’re hurting yourself in the process?

Look, most of us are overworked, overtired, or overwhelmed, so the idea of ‘checking out’ and ignoring the hard work you need to consistently put into your everyday life can seem enticing.

But don’t fall victim to the lazy mindset – before you know it, you’re completely consumed with the art of doing nothing and it is a habit that is so very hard to break.

Why?

Because doing nothing requires no work. No energy. No extra thought. And maintaining a healthy, positive life and mindset does take work – consistent work – and thought. To make a change to better your life takes real action, and to enforce this positive change takes discipline, which of course, takes time.

And there is no discipline when you’re stuck in lazy-mode.

We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.” - Jim Rohn

For those of you who know Dr. Gena, you know how committed and disciplined she is when it comes to the following areas – the ones she thinks YOU should be disciplined with as well.

Achieving positive outcomes:

Let’s say you’re trying to land a major business deal, one that will undoubtedly be difficult to get – but so worth it in the long run. Do you put out one attempt to close the deal and call it quits? Or are you persistent and willing to try any strategy until you hear that “yes” on the other end of the phone? Want something so bad you can taste it? Work for it.

Improving relationships:

In any relationship, we tend to fall into patterns that leave us feeling bored and unfulfilled. One random date night or cozy conversation does not a pattern break. To foster the kind of energy that a relationship needs to thrive and survive, connect and communicate with your partners needs repeatedly, over time. They don’t call marriage “work” for no reason! Want a happy, loving relationship? Work for it.

Feeling more energized:

It only takes one bad meal to make you feel terrible, and many good, healthy meals over time, to make you feel great. I know, it’s not exactly fair. But it is what it is. If you want to boost your energy and feel great every single day, then you have to eat healthful, whole foods over time. Want to feel great? Work for it.

Want to lose weight? Eat healthy and exercise, repeatedly over time.

What’s easier? Sitting on the couch eating processed, pre-packaged foods to save you the energy of having to go the store while you’re totally not going to the gym, or getting sweaty in the gym followed by a trip to the market for fresh fruits and veggies. Exactly. Healthy eating and exercise are a form of discipline that becomes addicting and requires major consistency. Want to lose weight? Work for it.

Want to improve how your body functions overall?

Chiropractic care is the answer here. This is essentially the foundation that can hold all of the above together. Your body needs regular care to ensure your body and brain (nervous system) are communicating properly. When there is a disruption in communication, all of the effort you put in to caring for yourself may not even matter. Regular chiropractic care (chiropractic check-ups and adjustments), while keeping this a consistent practice, will ensure your body reaps the effects of getting out of lazy-ville!

The bottom line here? If you want to make changes in your life, stop being lazy! If things aren’t going your way, you don’t feel or look your best, or your relationship has become stale – don’t just wish for things to change.

Work for it.
